Vilafonte Series M 2021 (1x75cl)

Vilafonté is one of the South African names that gets brought up when people argue that Stellenbosch belongs in the same conversation as Napa or Bordeaux. Series M is the blend that leans towards the softer, rounder side of their range, so it is friendlier to open young.

Pairs happily with anything off a grill — lamb chops, ribs, or a big roast. Also a decent gift for someone who has drunk plenty of French wine and wants a change. Free delivery in Hong Kong over HK$800, flat HK$80 below that.

Tasting notes

Warm-climate Stellenbosch red blends typically show ripe blackberry, dark plum and cassis, with sweet spice, vanilla and sometimes a mocha note from oak. Body is usually full with rounded tannins. Decant thirty to sixty minutes and serve around 17°C.
