Collection: Pomerol

Pomerol is small — barely 800 hectares, less than a tenth of the Médoc — and it has no classification system at all. No growths, no ranking, no 1855 list. Estates are judged purely on what is in the bottle.

The style. Merlot-dominant, grown on clay with a distinctive iron-rich seam beneath. The wines are rounder, plusher and more velvety than Left Bank Cabernet, with a savoury, almost metallic edge that comes from the soil.

Who it suits. Anyone who has found Médoc austere or drying. Pomerol gives you Bordeaux structure with far more immediate flesh, and it is approachable years earlier.
