Rhône wine, delivered in Hong Kong. One valley, two halves, two completely different wines.

Northern Rhône is Syrah on steep granite slopes — Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Cornas. Firmer and more savoury than Australian Shiraz made from the same grape.

Southern Rhône is blends led by Grenache — Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the villages around it. Warmer, rounder, and generally ready sooner. Château de Beaucastel is the benchmark here.

If you like Bordeaux but want something with more spice and less oak, the Rhône is usually the next place to look.
