Mid-Autumn Wine Gifts 2026 中秋送禮
Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Friday 25 September 2026, with the public holiday running 25–27 September. If you are giving wine this year, the two things that matter are picking the right price for the relationship, and ordering early enough that it arrives.
Order by these dates
| If you want it before the holiday | Order by |
|---|---|
| Standard delivery (2–5 business days) | Wednesday 16 September |
| Corporate orders (10+ bottles, multiple addresses) | Friday 11 September |
| Same-day / express (HK$200–500) | Up to Thursday 24 September |
After 16 September we can still get most orders out, but express charges may apply and popular bottles sell through. WhatsApp us if you are cutting it fine — we will tell you honestly whether it will make it.
What to give, by relationship
Colleagues, staff, casual thank-yous — under HK$300
The safest gift here is a champagne people recognise. Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, Piper-Heidsieck, and G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge, which comes in its own gift box. For red, a Bordeaux second wine carries a classified estate's name at an everyday price.
Clients, relatives, your boss — HK$300 to HK$800
This is the main gifting range in Hong Kong: enough to be taken seriously, not so much that it is awkward to receive. Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, Bollinger, Pol Roger, Billecart-Salmon; Château Lascombes and Pontet-Canet for Bordeaux.
Important clients, senior relationships — HK$800 to HK$2,000
Dom Pérignon, Krug Grande Cuvée, Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque. For whisky, The Macallan, Lagavulin 16 and Hakushu 12. Most bottles at this level come in their own presentation box.
The one gift that has to land — HK$2,000 and above
Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak, Yamazaki 12 and 18, Louis Roederer Cristal in wooden box, Kweichow Moutai.

Corporate and bulk orders
If you are sending to a list of clients or to your whole team, tell us the number of bottles, the budget per bottle and the delivery addresses. We will confirm stock, hold it for you, and deliver to multiple addresses across Hong Kong on a date you choose.
Two things worth knowing: we hold physical stock in Hong Kong, so we can tell you today whether 60 bottles of one wine actually exist rather than promising and back-ordering. And there is no minimum order, so a mixed list of different budgets is not a problem.
WhatsApp +852 6035 9497 or email sales@hkonlinewineshop.com. Office hours Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm.
Delivery to offices and hotels
We deliver to offices and to hotels across Hong Kong. You do not need to be there — reception or the concierge can sign for it. Free delivery on orders over HK$800; under that, a flat HK$80. More on hotel delivery.
A note on choosing
Two things that trip people up when buying wine as a gift in Hong Kong:
Older is not automatically better. A bottle over ten years old may be past its drinking window, and cork condition on older bottles varies. Unless you know the recipient collects, a recent vintage in good condition is the better gift.
Storage is the real constraint. Most Hong Kong flats have nowhere cool to keep wine. If your recipient does not have a wine fridge, give something they will open within a few weeks rather than something that needs cellaring.
Why buy wine in Hong Kong
Hong Kong abolished duty on wine in 2008 and has no sales tax or VAT. In most producing countries a bottle carries excise duty plus VAT of 20% or more — which is why the same wine is often cheaper here than in the country that made it.
