Why they cost what they cost. The Ciron river brings autumn mist that lets botrytis — noble rot — take hold, shrivelling the grapes and concentrating everything in them. Pickers go through the vineyard several times taking only affected berries, and yields collapse to a fraction of a normal harvest. That is the price. These keep for decades and, once opened, for a week in the fridge.
