SYLVAIN BZIKOT, Meursault 2021 (1x75cl)

Village-level Meursault from the Cote de Beaune, made from Chardonnay. Meursault is the white Burgundy village most people name first, and usually for a reason: it tends to be the fuller, rounder end of the region rather than the lean and steely end.

Bring it to a dinner with scallops, lobster, chicken in cream sauce, or a good cheese course. Serve around 12 degrees; straight out of a cold fridge is too cold for a wine like this.

Tasting notes

Meursault typically shows white peach, hazelnut and citrus with a creamy, broader texture from barrel ageing, and acidity that holds it together rather than cutting through. Usually more about weight and length than sharpness.
