Barolo is always Nebbiolo, and Nebbiolo is a grape that gives pale colour but serious grip — firm tannins, high acidity, and a habit of needing time in the glass before it shows its hand. A young Barolo like this 2021 usually wants air.

Tasting notes

Nebbiolo typically shows red cherry, rose petal, tar and dried herbs, with firm tannins and bright acidity. Usually worth decanting an hour or two ahead, and it tends to keep improving over the evening.
