This is a Highland single malt from the Macduff distillery, distilled in 2008 and released as an independent bottling. Independent bottlings are how a lot of drinkers get to try distilleries that rarely put out much under their own name, and each release tends to have its own character rather than following a fixed house profile.

Good gift for someone who has worked through the usual supermarket shelf and wants something less familiar. Free delivery in Hong Kong over HK$800, flat HK$80 below that.

Tasting notes

Highland single malt of this age typically shows orchard fruit, honey and malt biscuit with a gentle oak spice, and generally sits on the unpeated side. Try it neat first, then add a few drops of water to see how it opens.
