Macallan Classic Cut 2020 (1x70cl)

Classic Cut comes out once a year, and each release is bottled at a higher strength than the standard Macallan range. That is the whole idea of it: a Speyside single malt with the volume turned up, made for people who already know the house style and want a bolder version of it.

The 2020 release works well as a gift for a whisky drinker who has been through the core range, or as the bottle you open at a dinner when someone asks for something a bit more serious than usual.

Tasting notes

Speyside malts are usually on the rounder, fruitier side, and a higher-strength bottling typically carries that further with more concentration and a warmer finish. A few drops of water usually help it open up.
