Macallan 18 Years Old Double Cask (1x70cl)

The Double Cask range is matured in a combination of American oak and European oak casks, both seasoned with sherry, which The Macallan uses to distinguish it from their Sherry Oak-only range.

At 18 years old, this sits well up the age range as a gift or a serious dram rather than an everyday pour.

Tasting notes

Sherry-seasoned oak, whether American or European, usually gives Speyside whisky notes of dried fruit, vanilla and spice. Eighteen years of maturation typically adds more depth and roundness than a younger expression.
