A Brut rose from the Champagne house of Henriot. Brut means it is dry rather than sweet, and non-vintage means it is blended for a consistent house style rather than tied to one harvest — which is exactly what you want in a bottle you open without an occasion.
Rose champagne is the useful one at a Hong Kong table: it works as an aperitif, it holds up to dim sum, and it is one of the few wines that genuinely handles roast duck and siu mei. As a gift it looks considered without being the same household name everyone else brings.
Tasting notes
Brut rose champagne usually shows red berries — strawberry, raspberry, sometimes redcurrant — over a dry, bready base, with fine bubbles and firm acidity. Chill to about 8-10°C and use a normal white wine glass rather than a narrow flute.
