Guigal Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2021 (1x75cl)

Crozes-Hermitage reds are Syrah, and Crozes is the largest and most approachable of the northern Rhone appellations — the one you open on a weeknight rather than save for a birthday. Guigal is a name most Hong Kong drinkers already recognise on a Rhone label.

This is a food wine first. Roast pork, braised beef brisket, char siu, lamb chops, anything with soy or five spice. Bring it out at a family dinner and it will disappear faster than you expect.

Tasting notes

Northern Rhone Syrah usually shows black pepper, dark berries and a savoury, slightly smoky edge, with firm but not heavy tannin. Serve around 16-18°C; a short 30 minutes open usually helps it loosen up.
