Francois Mikulski Pommard 2021 (1x75cl)

Pommard is one of the sturdier villages in the Côte de Beaune — the Pinot Noir here usually carries more frame and darker fruit than its lighter neighbours, so it stands up to actual food rather than just sipping. Domaine François Mikulski is a Meursault-based grower, better known for whites, which makes their reds a bit of a talking point.

Good bottle for a small dinner with people who like Burgundy, or a gift for a friend who has moved past Bordeaux. Free delivery over HK$800, flat HK$80 below that.

Tasting notes

Pommard Pinot Noir typically shows dark cherry, raspberry and a dusty, earthy edge, with firmer tannins than most Côte de Beaune reds. A young vintage usually benefits from thirty to forty minutes open. Serve slightly cool, around 15-16°C, not at room temperature.
