Togouchi makes its whisky in Hiroshima. This one is a single cask release, so every drop came out of one cask, and that cask had held Port before the whisky went in. Port maturation usually leans a whisky towards richer, sweeter fruit.

Numbered 5 of 7 in the series. If you are shopping for someone who already has the usual Japanese bottles on the shelf, a numbered single cask is a different kind of gift.

Tasting notes

Port cask whisky typically shows dark berry, dried fruit and a warm sweet spice character. Drink it neat and let it sit in the glass a minute or two before the first sip.
