Domaine Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Rouge 2022 (1x75cl)

Village-level red Burgundy from Marsannay, the northernmost village of the Cote de Nuits. Pinot Noir from this end of the slope is usually lighter on its feet than the big names further south, which makes it a lot easier to drink over a normal dinner rather than saving for an occasion.

Try it with roast duck, char siu, mushroom dishes or a simple steak. A short chill of twenty minutes in the fridge before pouring suits it better than room temperature in a Hong Kong summer.

Tasting notes

Marsannay Pinot Noir typically shows red cherry, raspberry and a touch of earth or dried herb, with light to medium body and fresh acidity. Tannin is usually fine rather than firm, so it drinks well young.
