Delamotte Brut NV (1x75cl)

Delamotte is based in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the Grand Cru village at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, and it shares its cellars and its team with Salon — the single-vineyard, single-vintage house that is among the most sought-after names in Champagne.

Why that matters. Delamotte draws on the same Chardonnay sources and the same winemaking, without the Salon price. Among people who follow champagne it is one of the standard answers to "what do you drink yourself?"

The style. Chardonnay-dominant, taut and mineral rather than rich. Precise, dry, and long.

When to drink it. Serve at 8–10°C. Aperitif, oysters, sashimi, steamed fish.

As a gift. Not the choice for someone who does not follow wine — the name will not register. Excellent for someone who does.
