Clynelish sits on the coast of the northern Highlands, and whisky from that stretch usually carries a light coastal, faintly salty character rather than heavy peat smoke. It's the kind of bottle that stays on the shelf and gets poured slowly.

Neat, or with a few drops of water to open it up. Also an easy gift for the friend who has moved past blends but doesn't want anything extreme.
