Chevalier de Lascombes is the second wine of Château Lascombes, a Second Growth of Margaux.

Why 2017. A frost-affected year with lower yields, but the fruit that came in was fresh and classically shaped. On a second wine that is close to ideal: it is aromatic, light on its feet, and it does not need time.

What a second wine is. Same estate, same team, same vineyards, younger vines. The house style at a fraction of the price.

When to drink it. Now. Twenty to thirty minutes in a decanter. Roast meat, braises, a weeknight steak.
