Chevalier de Lascombes is the second wine of Château Lascombes, a Second Growth of Margaux.

What a second wine is. Same estate, same team, same vineyards — but made from younger vines and the parcels the château decides not to put into the main label. It carries the house style at a fraction of the price, and it is ready to drink sooner.

When to drink it. Now. Decant thirty minutes if you have time. It handles everyday food better than a grander bottle would — roast meat, braises, a steak on a weeknight.

Is it worth it? This is one of the best-selling reds on our site, and the reason is simple arithmetic: a Margaux address for the price of a supermarket bottle.
