Chateau Pichon Baron, Pauillac 2021 (1x75cl)

Chateau Pichon Baron 2021 is the Grand Vin of a Pauillac estate classified as a Deuxieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. The estate says it comes from the oldest vines on its historic plots. The 2021 blends 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot and was aged 18 months in barrels, 70% new and 30% one-vintage. The Merlot was picked from 27 September to 1 October and the Cabernet Sauvignon from 30 September to 7 October, at low yields.

Tasting notes

For the Grand Vin, the estate describes black fruit flavours and spicy hints, with great elegance, intensity and exceptional length. It says the wine improves year after year and can age for over 40 years in the cellar.
