Château Lascombes is a Second Growth of Margaux, classified in 1855.

Why 2014. After a difficult summer, September and October 2014 were exceptional — a long, dry autumn saved the vintage. The result is classically proportioned Bordeaux: fresher and lighter-framed than 2015 or 2018, with good acidity and no excess.

What that means for you. This is the Lascombes vintage to drink rather than store. It is open now, it goes with food rather than dominating it, and it does not need another decade.

When to drink it. Decant an hour. Roast lamb, duck, mushroom dishes, aged cheese.
