Pauillac is the Bordeaux commune people think of when they picture serious Cabernet - firm, structured, built for the long run. Duhart-Milon 2004 has had over twenty years to settle down, which usually takes the edge off that structure.
Good for a steak night or a dinner where the food can stand up to it. At this age bottles vary, so stand it upright a day ahead and decant gently off any sediment before pouring.
Tasting notes
Pauillac reds are typically Cabernet Sauvignon led, usually showing blackcurrant, graphite and cedar with firm tannins when young. With two decades in bottle you'd generally expect the fruit to have darkened toward dried plum and the tannins to have loosened.
