Chateau Cantemerle 2015 (1x75cl)
Chateau Cantemerle 2015 (1x75cl)
Cantemerle is a Fifth Growth of the Haut-Médoc, classified in 1855 — added to the list at the last moment, which is a story the estate still tells. It sits at the southern edge of the Médoc, next to Margaux.
Why it sells well here. It is one of the least expensive ways into an 1855 classified growth. The name is checkable, the classification is real, and the price is everyday.
Why 2015. A warm, ripe vintage that produced generous, fruit-forward Bordeaux with soft tannins. On a Fifth Growth that combination is ideal — approachable straight away, forgiving with food.
When to drink it. Now, decanted thirty to sixty minutes, or hold five years. Red meat, braises, roast duck.
