Chateau La Louviere Blanc, Pessac-Leognan 2000 (1x75cl)

White Bordeaux from Pessac-Leognan, blending Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and from 2000 so it has over twenty years in bottle. Aged white Bordeaux is a rare thing to find open on a table, which is part of the appeal.

Serve around 12C, not colder, and pour it into a proper white wine glass. A thoughtful birth-year gift if the year means something to the recipient.

Tasting notes

Aged white Bordeaux usually moves from fresh citrus toward honey, beeswax, toasted nuts and dried orange peel, typically keeping a line of acidity underneath.
