Carmes De Rieussec 2016 (1x75cl)

Sweet wine is the course most people forget to plan, and then it saves the dinner. Carmes de Rieussec is the second wine of Chateau Rieussec in Sauternes, so it is a way into that style without opening the big bottle first.

Pour small glasses at the end of a long dinner, or bring it out with blue cheese and a bowl of nuts. As a client gift it reads a bit more thoughtful than another red, and half a bottle keeps in the fridge for a couple of days.

Tasting notes

Semillon-led Sauternes affected by noble rot typically shows honey, apricot and candied citrus, with sweetness balanced by acidity. Serve well chilled, around 8-10°C, in a small glass.
