La Croix de Beaucaillou 2021 (1x75cl)

La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou (La Croix de Beaucaillou) 2021 comes from the vineyard of Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou in Saint-Julien. The estate describes its wine as a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon completed with Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot. The 2021 is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, aged 12 months in Bordeaux barrels, 60% in new oak.

Tasting notes

The cellar master's March 2022 note describes a deep ruby colour with black fruit, cassis, bramble and cherry, with nuances of cocoa bean, cardamom, clove and crushed gravel. The palate is full-bodied, with polished, very pliant tannins, firm black fruit and pitch-perfect acidity, and a persistent finish.
