Chateau Clos Haut-Peyraguey 2015 is a Sauternes classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classe in 1855, and the estate says it is the smallest of the Sauternes first growths, with 8.5 hectares. The blend is 95% Semillon and 5% Sauvignon from 40-year-old vines on gravel and sand over a clay subsoil.
Tasting notes
The estate describes a fairly deep yellow with first golden reflections and a classic ripe Sauternes bouquet of honey, raisins and dried apricot. The palate is juicy, sweet and elegant.
This is an older vintage. It was sourced from a reliable, proven source, checked for authenticity by our in-house sommelier, and stored in our constant-temperature cellar after arrival.
