Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere, St. Emilion 2020 (1x75cl)

Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2020 is a Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé from Vignobles Comtes von Neipperg. The official estate vintage page gives a blend of 55% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, at 13.5% alcohol, organic-certified (FR-BIO-10). Harvest ran from 17 to 29 September 2020 at 32.5 hl/ha; 32 days in wooden vats with pneumatic pigeage; ageing about 16 months in new oak barrels (50%) on the lees; no fining; château-bottled mid-May 2022.

Tasting notes

The estate presents Canon La Gaffelière as classy, remarkably well-structured, complex, pure and elegant, with Cabernet adding power and aromatic complexity beside Merlot on the warm clay-sand and clay-limestone pied de côte.
