2006 turns twenty in 2026 — the anniversary vintage for a twentieth wedding anniversary, a child born that year coming of age, or a business marking two decades.
What the year was actually like. Bordeaux 2006 sits between two celebrated vintages, 2005 and 2009, and has always been priced accordingly. That is the opportunity: it is a genuinely good classical year with firm structure, and it costs a fraction of its neighbours. It is drinking well now rather than needing more time.
Buying a twenty-year-old wine. This is the age where a wine has stopped being young but has not become fragile. It is the easiest old vintage to give as a gift — mature enough to be interesting, robust enough to survive a car journey and a warm dining room.
Everything here is physically in our warehouse. Stand upright for a day, decant off the sediment.
