Wines from the 2000s — currently the sweet spot for gifting. Twenty-year-old bottles from a strong decade (2000, 2005 and 2009 in Bordeaux; 2002 and 2005 in Burgundy) are old enough to feel significant but still widely drinkable tonight, and they cost far less than the 1980s and 1990s.
