Torres Milmanda 2016 (1x75cl)

Milmanda is the name of both the site and the wine, printed on the label. It comes from Conca de Barberà, a cooler inland appellation in Catalonia — inland and higher up, away from the Mediterranean heat, which is why the area is taken seriously for whites at all.

Do note the vintage: 2016 means nine years in bottle, which is a long time for a white. This is an older example rather than a fresh current release, so approach it as such — open it with a bit of care, give it a moment in the glass, and pair it with something gentle rather than sharp.

Tasting notes

Whites from cooler inland Catalonia usually keep good acidity; older examples typically move away from primary fruit towards softer, rounder notes.
