Shaw + Smith Lenswood Chardonnay 2021 (1x75cl)

Chardonnay from Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills, a cooler and higher site than the warm South Australian valleys. That difference matters in the glass: cool-climate Chardonnay usually keeps more acidity and comes across tighter than the big buttery style people remember from years ago.

Works with steamed fish, scallops, roast chicken or a simple pasta with cream. Take it out of the fridge ten minutes before pouring, since Chardonnay served too cold gives away half its aroma.

Tasting notes

Cool-climate Chardonnay typically shows white peach, citrus and green apple, often with a light toasty or nutty note from barrel time, and fresher acidity than warm-region examples. Usually medium-bodied rather than heavy.
