Inside is a Craigellachie 2007 from Speyside, bottled independently in the MahJong Project series, with 東風 printed on the label as the release name. "Octave" refers to the cask: an octave holds roughly 50 litres, much smaller than a standard cask, so the spirit sits against proportionally more wood and picks up cask character faster. Independent bottlings like this rarely come round twice, which is exactly why a small measure is a sensible way to meet one.

Speyside malts usually run fruity and rounded, and time in a small octave cask typically pushes the wood spice and depth further forward.
