Serafin Pere et Fils, Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2019 (1x75cl)

Here the equally brooding and restrained nose is compositionally quite similar to the straight Gevrey villages except that the sauvage character is more pronounced. There is more size, weight and mid-palate density to the intense and serious middle weight plus flavors as the old vines are in evident and especially so on the youthfully austere, rustic and highly complex finale. As it seemingly always does, this built-to-age effort boxes well above its weight.
