The Willamette Valley in Oregon is the American region best known for Pinot Noir, and this is a bottle from there. "Dijon Free" on the label refers to the vine material used and is the producer's own naming — beyond that we will leave it alone rather than guess at the detail.

Oregon Pinot usually sits between Burgundy and California in style: not as lean as one, not as ripe as the other. Works with roast chicken, duck, mushroom dishes, or a dinner where you want red wine that does not shout.
