Barbera is what people in Piedmont actually drink on a normal weeknight. It is high in acidity and low in tannin, so it goes down easily and does not fight with your food the way a big tannic red can.

Think tomato pasta, roast pork, even a plate of siu mei on the way home. Open it, pour it, finish it the same night. No decanting drama needed.

Tasting notes

Barbera d'Alba usually shows red cherry and plum with bright, mouth-watering acidity and very little tannin grip. Serve it slightly cool, around 16°C, and it feels even fresher.
