Kavalan Oloroso Solist Single Cask Strength Sherry Cask (1x70cl)

A Kavalan single malt from Yilan in Taiwan, matured in an Oloroso sherry cask. Solist means it comes from one single cask and is bottled at cask strength, so it lands with more weight than a standard blend and rewards a slow pour.

It arrives with a gift box, which makes it a straightforward pick for Mid-Autumn or a client gift when you want something that isn't another Scotch. Add a few drops of water if the strength feels tight at first, then leave it a minute and try again.

Tasting notes

Oloroso sherry cask maturation usually brings dried fig, raisin, dark chocolate and a little baking spice, and Taiwan's warm climate typically pushes the cask character further than a cool-climate whisky. Expect it rich and full at cask strength.
