Jura Rare Vintage 1988 Aged 30 Years (1x70cl)

Single malt from the Isle of Jura, distilled in 1988 and aged 30 years, so it was bottled around 2018. Thirty years is a milestone bottle — the kind you buy for a birthday that ends in a zero, an anniversary, or a retirement, where the year on the label is doing half the work.

One honest note: whisky stops ageing once it is in glass, but the bottle itself is years old now, so fill level and seal can vary from bottle to bottle. That is normal for older stock and we would rather you know before it arrives than after.

Tasting notes

Island malts at this kind of age usually turn soft and layered — dried fruit, honey, a little salt and oak spice, with any smoke sitting well back. Drink it neat at room temperature, and give it ten minutes in the glass before you judge it.
