HINOTORI BLENDED WHISKY (1x70cl)

A Japanese blended whisky. Blended means malt whisky and grain whisky married together, which usually lands smoother and easier going than a single malt — less to unpack, more to just drink.

This is a workhorse bottle rather than a contemplation bottle. Best use: the Japanese highball. Tall glass, packed with ice, one part whisky to three or four parts cold soda, quick stir, lemon peel if you have one. It is one of the better things to drink with fried food or a hot dinner.

Tasting notes

Japanese blends usually sit in gentle territory — light malt, soft grain sweetness, a clean finish rather than heavy smoke or spice. Serve over plenty of ice or in a highball; keep the soda properly cold so the drink does not go flat.
