A single-vineyard Brunello di Montalcino from the Vigna del Fiore site, 2016 vintage. Brunello is always Sangiovese, which typically means high acidity, firm tannins and a savoury profile rather than a sweet fruity one. Single-vineyard bottlings are usually made to be a little more specific in character than an estate blend.

Still young for Brunello, so decant it a good hour or two if you are opening it now, or put it away for a while. Pairs well with beef, lamb, tomato-based pasta, and it holds up next to Cantonese roast meats too. Serve around 16-18°C. Tasting notes

Brunello typically shows sour cherry, dried herbs, leather and a dusty, earthy edge, with bright acidity and firm tannins. Younger bottles usually open up with air.
