Domaine de Chevalier 1985 (1x75cl)

A Bordeaux blend from Domaine de Chevalier in Pessac-Léognan, now with about 40 years in bottle. At this age every bottle is its own story, so go in curious rather than expecting a fixed result.

Stand it up a day or two ahead, use a gentle corkscrew or a two-prong puller, and decant slowly off the sediment. A bottle for an anniversary year, or for a small table of people who like drinking something with history.

Tasting notes

Bordeaux at 40 years typically shows dried fruit, forest floor, leather and dried herbs rather than fresh fruit, with tannins largely resolved. It can fade quickly once open, so pour and drink.
