Delas Crozes Hermitage Les Launes Blanc 2021 (1x75cl)

First thing to be clear about: this is the white. Most people who know Crozes-Hermitage know it as a Syrah red, so the Blanc catches a lot of people by surprise. Les Launes is the cuvee name printed on the label.

Northern Rhone whites are usually built on Marsanne and Roussanne, which means a rounder, gentler white rather than a sharp squeaky one. Good bottle to bring to a dinner where someone has already said no to red.

Tasting notes

Marsanne and Roussanne typically give white stone fruit, a little pear and almond, and a soft rather than zippy finish. Usually happy with roast chicken, creamy pasta or steamed fish.
