Chateau Pavie Macquin, St Emilion 2023 (1x75cl)

Chateau Pavie Macquin 2023 is a Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé B. The estate technical sheet (contact@pavie-macquin.com; Famille Corre Macquin / Nicolas & Cyrille Thienpont) gives a blend of 82% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, about 14.5% alcohol, yield around 48 hl/ha with roughly 92% into the grand vin, and bottling planned for summer 2025. The plateau vineyard is clay-limestone over asteriated limestone; vinification uses gravity vatting of whole berries in concrete tanks, with 16–20 months’ ageing in barrel (50% new).

The estate sheet highlights 2023 as sublimating the plateau terroir, notably through Cabernet Franc on limestone for brightness, length and a velvety texture — a vintage of achievement for the Thienpont–Derenoncourt collaboration’s 30th year.
