Chateau Ormes De Pez, St.Estephe 2023 (1x75cl)

Chateau Ormes De Pez 2023 is a Saint-Estèphe red from the Cazes family (also Lynch-Bages). The 2023 technical sheet (Compagnie Médocaine / estate data) gives a blend of 55% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot; yield about 52 hl/ha; fermentation and maceration about 20 days with délestage and pump-overs; ageing 16 months in barrels (45% new). The vineyard’s gravel and sand plots lie on either side of the village of Pez; fruit is hand-harvested.

Tasting notes

The sheet describes an intense, bright garnet robe; a nose of lively fresh red fruit; and a palate in harmony between elegant oak and a fine tannic frame — fleshy and aromatic after July mildew pressure and a hot September that demanded strict selection.
