Chateau Lagrange 1988 (1x75cl)

Saint-Julien sits between Pauillac and Margaux on the left bank, and Chateau Lagrange is one of its larger estates. This 1988 has nearly forty years behind it, so it belongs to a dinner where the year is the reason everyone showed up.

Condition varies with bottles this old and we cannot say how yours will pour. Stand it upright a day ahead, decant off the sediment, and keep the food simple so the bottle is the thing people talk about.

Tasting notes

Left bank Bordeaux with this much age usually leans to dried fruit, cedar, dried herbs and earthy, savoury notes, with soft tannins and a paler rim. Serve around 16-18°C.
