Chateau de Fieuzal, Pessac-Leognan 2023 (1x75cl)

Chateau de Fieuzal 2023 is a Pessac-Léognan Cru Classé de Graves red (Brenda and Lochlann Quinn). The Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGCB) 2023 tasting sheet for the estate gives a blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, at 13.5% alcohol, from about 80 ha with vines averaging 35 years; grand-vin yield about 38.5 hl/ha.

Tasting notes

The UGCB sheet describes a brilliantly clear colour; pure, refined aromas of crunchy black fruit (blackberry and blackcurrant) with liquorice and white pepper; rare tension on the palate with supple, delicate tannins; and a slight bitterness on the finish that underlines purity.
