Chateau Dauzac 1997 (1x75cl)

A Margaux red from 1997, now close to 30 years in bottle. Margaux is the left-bank commune people usually describe as the more perfumed, lighter-framed one. Do keep in mind that bottles of this age vary depending on storage history — that's the nature of buying older wine.

Stand it up the day before, open it gently, and pour without disturbing the sediment. A thoughtful bottle for an anniversary or a dinner with an older-wine drinker.

Tasting notes

Aged Margaux typically leans towards dried rose, red plum, tea leaf and earth rather than bright fruit, with tannins that have softened over time. Drink it within an hour or so of opening.
