Chateau Brane-Cantenac, Margaux 2021 (1x75cl)

Chateau Brane-Cantenac 2021 is a Margaux red from an estate classified as a Second Growth in 1855 (Henri Lurton). The official estate vintage page gives a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Carmenère and 1% Petit Verdot. Harvest ran from 23 September to 7 October 2021; vinification in oak casks and ageing about 18 months in 100% new French oak. The year demanded frost protection, spring rain management and late drought adaptation on the plateau gravel.

Tasting notes

The estate describes a deep, limpid garnet; a fresh nose of black fruit (blackberry) with white flowers, clove and eucalyptus; a frank, generous attack with supple silky tannins; a dense, complex mid-palate of black fruit, spice and menthol; and a long finish carried by Cabernet Sauvignon freshness.
