Chateau Batailley 1988 (1x75cl)

Birth-year bottles get pulled out for graduations, big birthdays and the dinner where someone finally says yes. This 1988 Pauillac from Chateau Batailley has nearly forty years in bottle, which is the point of opening it.

Because it is that old, condition differs from bottle to bottle and we cannot promise how yours will show. Rest it standing for a day, decant slowly, and have a backup bottle on the table so the night does not hang on one cork.

Tasting notes

Left bank Bordeaux with this much age usually moves towards dried fruit, leather, cedar and forest floor, with softer tannins and a lighter colour at the rim. Serve around 16-18°C.
