勃艮地紅酒只用 Pinot Noir，別無其他——顏色比多數人預期的淺，靠的是香氣與酸度，而不是重量。
看懂分級。Bourgogne Rouge 涵蓋整個產區；再往上是村莊名，例如 Gevrey-Chambertin 或 Volnay；然後是一級園 Premier Cru，加上指定地塊的名字；最後是特級園 Grand Cru，酒標上連村莊名也不再出現。每上一級，葡萄園範圍就收窄一點。來自好酒莊的一級園，通常是價格上的甜蜜點。
